History Roger and Nina Astin, a prominent family in Bryan, built the Astin Mansion in 1924. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places – the majority of the architecture of the house is original. There are twelve rooms, seven fireplaces, 96 windows, ten sets of French doors, and twenty-seven different colors of paints to be found in the Mansion. The outside of the home has a playhouse that was used for the children and the Carriage House which was used as a servants’ living quarters, storage, and a garage for the carriages. In 2004, the Astin Mansion was purchased as a special events venue, and has been a well-known venue in the area ever since. The Astin Mansion has been voted “Best Wedding Venue” by The Knot Magazine and has won many awards for its floral department!
